The Election Commission's flying squad made headlines on Friday after a rigorous inspection of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin's vehicle. The vehicle check occurred as Stalin traveled to Tirunelveli for Assembly election activities.
Officials at a designated checkpoint signaled the chief minister's convoy to a halt for routine inspection. The team examined the vehicle's interior and luggage for any breaches of the Model Code of Conduct.
Cooperating with the officials, Stalin allowed the search, which found no prohibited items or unaccounted cash. This incident, following a similar inspection earlier this week, indicates the Election Commission's stringent enforcement measures throughout the state.
