A gang of fraudsters, including a woman, has been detained by Maharashtra police for scamming a man out of Rs 23.42 lakh by threatening him with a 'digital arrest' in Beed district, authorities revealed on Friday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Prasann Ajay Kasat, aged 31, his spouse Swati, 26, and their accomplice Sanket Deepak Beldar, 22, of Jalgaon. The group posed as police officers to intimidate their victim, Suryakant Munde from Parli Vaijnath, into handing over the substantial sum.
