In a remarkable cultural initiative, Maharashtra is preparing to establish its largest auditorium yet, situated in Thane's Ghodbunder Waghbil area. The venue, named 'Tirtharupa Nirupankar Appasaheb Dharmadhikari Natyagriha', is projected to be completed within three years, backed by a substantial investment of Rs 138 crore from the state government.

The sprawling auditorium will accommodate 2,500 spectators, featuring a state-of-the-art main hall with 1,600 seats and an additional 450 seats in each of the two balconies. Notably, there will be specialized facilities and reserved seating for disabled persons, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.

The minister revealed plans for dynamic spaces facilitating live events, cultural programs, and a large parking setup. To ensure the venue's operational success, discussions with key figures from the theatre industry are underway to integrate professional insights into the development process.
