A tragic incident unfolded in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district when two brothers were swept away by the strong currents of the Tissa river. While one body has been recovered, efforts to locate the second brother continue.
The incident occurred as Wangthoa and Laichat Wangpan were returning to Chasa village after purchasing meat for Laichat's upcoming wedding. Three of their companions successfully crossed the river, but a mishap saw Wangthoa slip into the water, followed by Laichat attempting a rescue.
Despite coordinated search efforts involving the State Disaster Response Force and Assam Rifles, Laichat remains missing. Authorities urge local residents to aid the search operation, ongoing for the second day under challenging conditions.
