In a significant ruling, a Delhi court has convicted Sachin, also known as Golu, for attempting to murder an acquaintance in east Delhi. The verdict was delivered in relation to the 2022 blade attack on Deepak Kumar at Ganesh Nagar Chowk, which left Kumar with severe injuries.
Additional Sessions Judge Subhash Kumar Mishra concluded that Sachin's actions were deliberate, having inflicted a muscle-deep wound on Kumar's neck. The attack emerged from a dispute earlier that day when Sachin seized Kumar's mobile phone and later escalated into violence.
Undeterred by the non-recovery of the crime weapon, the court leaned on consistent eyewitness testimony and medical evidence that backed the prosecution's narrative of an intentional murder attempt. The court dismissed the defense's accidental injury claim, finding discrepancies in Sachin's account.
