Border Villages: India's First Line of Defence

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recognized border villages as the nation's foremost line of defence on Wednesday, commending residents for their bravery and dedication. Sinha emphasized that fulfilling government promises is crucial, positioning these villagers as a top priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at a public event in Makwal under the Vibrant Villages Programme, Sinha highlighted the residents' daily service to the nation. He asserted that this dedication deserves recognition reflected in enhanced living standards. Sinha urged officials to include all families in development plans, stressing the role of border villagers in bolstering national security.

The Lieutenant Governor's directives include ensuring resources surpass urban areas, with focus on connecting every border village with improved infrastructure and opportunities. He noted substantial progress in reducing poverty and expanding road access since 2019, pledging continued efforts to transform these communities into model villages.
