Cricket Stars Involved in Nightclub Altercation Let Off with Warning
England cricket players Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell received warnings from the independent Cricket Regulator after an investigation into a nightclub altercation in New Zealand. Brook had initially misled investigators but later admitted his error. No further action will be taken against Josh Tongue, another player present.
England's white-ball captain Harry Brook and all-rounder Jacob Bethell have received warnings following an independent Cricket Regulator investigation into a nightclub incident in New Zealand at the end of last year.
Initially, Brook claimed he was alone during the altercation at a Wellington nightclub after being denied entry, but he later confessed in January to lying in order to protect his teammates.
The Regulator confirmed on Wednesday that both Brook and Bethell acknowledged breaching professional conduct regulations. Fast bowler Josh Tongue, who was also present, will face no additional consequences.
