A 54-year-old assistant sub-inspector in Maharashtra's Akola district has been suspended following allegations of misconduct. The officer reportedly asked a woman detainee to send her daughter for sexual favors. The woman was under police custody due to a financial fraud case involving Rs 80 lakh.
The allegations surfaced when the woman filed a complaint with senior police officials. A video later emerged on social media, showing senior officers confronting the accused officer, identified as Rajesh Jadhav. This incident has raised serious concerns about the misuse of power within the police force.
District Superintendent of Police Archit Chandak acted swiftly, suspending Jadhav with immediate effect and initiating legal proceedings. Charges include outraging a woman’s modesty and other violations. This case has sparked widespread outrage and calls for stringent actions against such abuses in law enforcement.
