A fatal accident involving a lift occurred at a madrasa in Varanasi, resulting in the death of a 22-year-old man, Asif Adil. Another individual, Hasnain Raza, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident took place late Tuesday night during an event at the madrasa's community hall. Eyewitnesses reported a large crowd present when the lift suddenly malfunctioned, sending it plummeting and causing the tragic occurrences.
The Varanasi Police have launched an investigation to determine the precise cause of the lift's failure. Authorities are examining whether insufficient maintenance played a role and have stated that stringent measures will be enforced against those responsible for the mishap.
