A madrasa teacher in Shahpur has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old student, according to police reports released on Monday.
The case came to public attention after a video depicting the purported assault appeared on social media. Authorities responded swiftly to the emergence of this evidence.
Aditya Bansal, the Superintendent of Police (Rural), confirmed that 70-year-old Iqbal, the teacher in question, has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused is now in custody while further investigations proceed, Bansal noted.
