The Jharkhand government has embarked on a crucial mission to address the water scarcity ahead of the summer months. Minister Yogendra Prasad announced plans to repair over 1.44 lakh hand pumps, with funds already allocated, aiming to ease the looming crisis especially in drought-affected areas.

In addition to water reforms, the state faces educational challenges. The Leader of Opposition highlighted delays in the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET), urging authorities to assure yearly examinations for the 50,000 vacant teaching positions across the state. Minister Sudivya Kumar confirmed a high court deadline for conducting JTET by March 31.

The legislative assembly also discussed creating Domchanch as a Nagar Panchayat. Amid environmental concerns, a strategic master plan is on the anvil to facilitate sustainable development without impacting commercial activities in eco-sensitive zones.
