The Delhi Police have successfully apprehended Himanshu Gupta, the main contractor held accountable for the fatal accident in Janakpuri last month. The incident resulted in the untimely death of a 25-year-old bank employee, Kamal Dhyani, who tragically fell into a 15-foot-deep pit while on his motorcycle.

Gupta had been elusive since the incident but was finally located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, following an intensive search initiated by the West district police team. The arrest took place early Tuesday morning, marking a significant development in the case.

The pit, allegedly left unsecured during ongoing work by the Delhi Jal Board, led to the fatal accident on February 5. The police had quickly registered a case and commenced investigations to hold those responsible to account. Gupta is now to be brought back to Delhi for further investigation into his role in the neglectful oversight.
