Karnataka's Cabinet Set to Decide on Internal Reservation Adjustments

In a bid to quash rumors of internal discord, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara stated on Monday that the ruling Congress party remains united over the state's internal reservation issue. He confirmed that a final decision is expected at the next Cabinet meeting.
The government is recalibrating its reservation criteria following a court mandate to cut the total quota from 56% to 50%. The revision stems from the Indra Sawhney case ruling.
Parameshwara outlined that discussions are also underway to address reservations for various communities, including Bhovis, Lambanis, Korachas, and nomadic groups, with new decisions anticipated shortly.
