Russia's Air Defence: A Successful Interception
Russia's Defence Ministry reported intercepting 170 drones over central and southern regions in four hours. Despite significant activity, no damage or casualties occurred. The highest concentration was in Bryansk, with Moscow also targeted. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the incidents on Telegram with emergency teams involved.
Russia's Defence Ministry announced on Sunday that its air defence units successfully intercepted 170 drones over central and southern Russia within a four-hour window, including two drones aimed at Moscow. There were no reports of damage or casualties resulting from the interceptions.
According to the ministry, the operations took place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time, recording higher-than-average activity. Notably, 73 drones were detected in the Bryansk region, which shares a border with Ukraine.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the attempted drone incursions via Telegram, noting that two drones were brought down while approaching the capital. Emergency crews are currently analyzing the wreckage from the impact sites.
