Balochistan Under Siege: Residents Report Alleged Abuse by Security Forces

Reports coming in from various districts in Balochistan have raised alarms over recent military operations conducted by Pakistani security forces. Locals in Surab, Gwadar, and Turbat have accused authorities of property damage and civilian mistreatment during these actions. Notably, a significant operation was reported on the outskirts of Surab in the Laghar area, where a substantial deployment of security vehicles was seen conducting door-to-door searches.

According to sources, these operations involved forcible entry into several homes, leading to concerns about private property damage. Residents alleged aggressive behavior from security personnel towards women and children, intensifying worries over the force's actions in the region. Reports from the Kantani area of Gwadar stated that security forces allegedly set fires to homes and fuel reserves, affecting the livelihoods of those engaged in cross-border fuel trading.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee criticized these actions, citing the destruction as evidence of persistent economic pressures on local communities and calling for humanitarian accountability. Concurrently, late-night raids in Turbat's Gogdan locality further illustrated local frustrations, with claims of harassment and property damage during a raid on a former councillor's home. Authorities have yet to respond to these allegations.
