A startling incident in Dehradun has led to the arrest of a taxi driver after a gruesome discovery of murder and cover-up. The victim, Dingbar Dhiman, was reportedly beaten to death by his friends, who buried his body in Chidiyapur forest, according to local police sources.
The murder came to light following a missing person's report filed by Dhiman's father. The police discovered that Dhiman, accused of raping a minor, was last seen on February 9 after attending a court hearing. He told his father he would return home later, but he never did.
Further investigation revealed that the friends involved in the incident had disappeared. The police tracked down taxi driver Rajanandan Thakur, whose vehicle was used in the crime. Thakur admitted that an argument during a drinking session led to Dhiman's accidental death, forcing the group to conceal the crime.
