In a disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through Jharkhand, a 45-year-old man, identified as Rambali Rajwar, succumbed to his injuries after being brutally assaulted by a mob over suspicions of child-lifting. The assault occurred in Chatra district and has drawn attention to the alarming issue of mob violence in the region.
According to the police, Rajwar was attacked on Sunday night by residents of the Chiraiyatand and Kichto villages. The victim, hailing from the Barwatoli area in Ramgarh district, was transferred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi, where he ultimately died due to severe injuries.
Piparwar police station officer-in-charge, Abhay Kumar, confirmed the incident as a clear case of mob lynching, revealing that a thorough investigation is underway. Although no arrests have been made yet, authorities are working diligently to identify those involved, pending the autopsy report, which promises to shed more light on this tragic event.
