Mother-Daughter Duo Arrested in Alleged Pakistan ISI Spy Case

A woman and her daughter have been implicated in a highly sensitive espionage case, allegedly spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) from within India. The Meerut police have reported that the mother, Saba Farhat, was apprehended, and her daughter charged with living in the country unlawfully without Indian citizenship.

The complaint against the duo, submitted by Ruksana, alleges that Saba Farhat had traveled to Pakistan in 1988, marrying Pakistani national Farhat Masood. Her daughter Aiman Farhat was said to have been born in Pakistan in 1993 and brought to India on a Pakistani passport. Despite living in India and enrolling in school, Aiman never received Indian citizenship.

The investigation, led by the Additional Superintendent of Police, unearthed forged documents allegedly crafted to secure a passport for Aiman and multiple identity documents in Saba's name. Both women are accused of collecting confidential information for Pakistan's ISI. Saba Farhat was arrested Monday and is set to face court proceedings, as confirmed by SSP Avinash Pandey.
