Police in Gujarat arrested 43 men and detained 38 women for allegedly consuming alcohol during a party at a villa located on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. Known for its strict prohibition laws, Gujarat saw this raid take place in a villa where alcohol, hookahs, cars, and mobile phones valued at Rs 2.3 crore were seized.

The raid occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday at a party that was organized by a man from Mumbai to celebrate his brother-in-law's 25th wedding anniversary. A total of 81 attendees were present at the party held at Safal Nirvana Greens near Sanand, according to the police.

Ahmedabad Rural Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat announced that blood samples from attendees were sent for testing, and the police have registered a case under the Gujarat Prohibition Act. Further actions under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act may follow if drug use is detected.
