A Russian airstrike on a Ukrainian thermal power plant in Sloviansk resulted in two deaths and multiple injuries. The attack, labeled 'terror' by President Zelenskiy, highlights ongoing aggression toward energy sites. Separate assaults in Kramatorsk killed one and injured three, emphasizing escalating conflict in the Donetsk region.
A deadly Russian airstrike on a Ukrainian thermal power plant in the eastern city of Sloviansk on Thursday claimed two lives and left several others injured, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
In his nightly address, Zelenskiy denounced the attack in the Donetsk region, near the front line, as 'strictly terror.' He stated that energy sites were the primary targets of the overnight Russian drone and missile assaults. Reuters was unable to independently verify this account.
Prosecutors in the Donetsk region reported that Russian strikes on private homes in Kramatorsk killed one person and wounded three others. Both Sloviansk and Kramatorsk remain key targets as Russian forces move slowly westward through the Donetsk region.
