Child Abuse Case in Himachal: Girl Seeks Safety From Parents

A young girl in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, has been placed under protective custody by the Women and Child Development Department after she called a child helpline to report alleged abuse by her parents. The girl's claims of repeated physical and verbal assaults have prompted swift action from local authorities.

Heeding the distress call made to helpline 1098, officials joined forces with the Bharari police to investigate the domestic environment. A police team, notably led by a female officer, visited the family home and issued a stern warning against further acts of violence.

Despite efforts by police and community leaders to mediate, the girl remained resolute in her refusal to return home. Authorities, underscoring the need for her safety, have taken her under their care while they continue their investigative proceedings.
