Himachal Pradesh is taking strategic steps to revitalize its tourism sector during the traditionally slow monsoon months. Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani announced plans to develop a 'Monsoon Tourism Circuit' that will highlight reservoirs, lakes, and natural sites across various districts.
This initiative aims to make the rainy season appealing to tourists, ensuring consistent visitor numbers year-round. Potential zones for water sports like Bilaspur, Kol Dam, and Kangra are under consideration, with stable water levels offering opportunities for exciting activities.
The upcoming 'Bilaspur Aqua Fest-2025' will further enhance this vision by hosting events like kayaking and canoeing. Local communities stand to benefit through livelihood exhibitions, providing a platform for entrepreneurs and self-help groups to showcase their products.
