In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district have seized more than 200 kg of opium husk, valued at over Rs 50 lakh, and arrested four people. The operation was carried out following a tip-off received by Hazaribag SP Anjani Anjan.

According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) B N Prasad, a trap was set on NH-33 under Charhi police station limits, where a truck loaded with opium husk was intercepted Monday evening. The suspects attempted to flee but were swiftly apprehended by police.

The arrests have unveiled information about more individuals involved in the illegal trade. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and continue their raids to secure further arrests as part of a broad campaign against drug trafficking in the region.
