CBI Probes UKSSSC Exam Paper Leak Scandal

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially launched an investigation into the alleged leak of the UKSSSC graduate-level exam paper, a move announced on Tuesday. This follows the examination that took place in September, where accusations surfaced regarding a leak originating from a Haridwar centre.

The issue sparked significant unrest, leading to protests spearheaded by the Uttarakhand Unemployed Association. The Chief Minister subsequently agreed to the group's demands, prompting a recommended CBI involvement. Consequently, the examination, initially sat by a large number of candidates, was cancelled.

An internal probe by the state police uncovered that candidate Khalid Malik took photos of the question paper, sharing them with his sister and others, leading to their distribution online. Khalid and his sister, Sabia, have been arrested, while four others, including an implicated professor, face suspension.
