In a high-stakes encounter on Monday morning, Ghaziabad Police arrested four men who had robbed a passenger in their auto rickshaw, an official confirmed.
A tip-off led police to the suspects, seated in a stationary auto rickshaw. Upon police arrival, the driver attempted to flee, prompting a chase. The situation escalated when the suspects opened fire, leading to retaliatory police shooting, injuring two of the assailants. Assistant Commissioner of Police Priyashri Pal reported that arrests followed, alongside the recovery of stolen goods.
The culprits—identified as Irfan, Shadab, Aman Garg, and Nazim—allegedly robbed the woman at gunpoint on Sunday. Police recovered gold ornaments, a mobile phone, two country-made pistols, and cartridges. The vehicle used in the crime has been seized, and the suspects are now in custody.
