In an unexpected development, the father of a Delhi University student, who reported an alleged acid attack, was arrested for the alleged rape of the wife of the prime accused. The arrest followed after inconsistencies emerged in the investigation.
The 20-year-old student had initially accused Jitender and his accomplices of attacking her with acid near Laxmi Bai College. However, discrepancies in their location and her statements prompted further investigation by the authorities.
It was revealed that the alleged attack involved an ordinary toilet cleaner, not acid, and counterclaims led the police to arrest the student's father, Akeel Khan, who allegedly fabricated the story.
