Deoghar authorities announced a major breakthrough in solving the September 22 Madhupur bank heist, where bandits looted cash and gold at gunpoint. Eleven individuals from Bihar's Vaishali district were arrested in connection to the crime.
During a recent press conference, Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar detailed the recovery of valuables including a firearm, cash, and mobile phones from the suspects, who confessed to the brazen daylight robbery. The heist targeted HDFC Bank's Madhupur branch and involved a violent confrontation with staff members.
Kumar urged local property owners to ensure proper identification checks on tenants as a preventative measure. Investigations are ongoing to seize additional assets connected to the crime, and efforts continue to trace the remainder of the stolen money.
