The Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission has taken disciplinary action against nine officials, including a panchayat secretary and an inspector, over their failure to draft voter lists in time for the panchayat elections.

The elections, scheduled to take place between December 2025 and January 2026, require well-prepared materials, which were not delivered by the officials in question.

State Election Commissioner Anil Kumar Khachi confirmed that show cause notices were also sent to two block development officers under whose watch the lapse occurred.
