The Mumbai police have successfully apprehended Mohammed Salim Mohammed Sohail Shaikh in connection with a massive Rs 252-crore mephedrone seizure, following his deportation from Dubai.
Shaikh, a pivotal figure in the case, was captured by international agencies before being sent back to India. His involvement includes plans to establish drug manufacturing facilities nationwide, furthering the distribution of mephedrone, a notorious synthetic stimulant.
This marks the third suspect extradited from the United Arab Emirates, as Mumbai police intensify their crackdown on the drug syndicate, having already raided a drug manufacturing hub in Sangli, Maharashtra, arresting 15 individuals tied to the illicit operation.
