Mumbai Police Apprehend Six Afghan Nationals on Fake Identity Charges
Six Afghan nationals, staying illegally in India, were arrested by Mumbai police. They entered the country with medical visas and forged identities to remain after their visas expired. Mumbai police have successfully apprehended six Afghan nationals who were residing in the country illegally under the guise of fake identities, an official confirmed on Monday. This operation was executed by the crime branch in the Colaba and Dharavi regions.
The individuals arrested include Abdul Samad Haji Ahmed Zai Nauroji from Kandhar, as well as Mohammed Rasol Kamaluddin Khaksar, Zia Ul Haq Ahmadi, Asad Khan Tara Kai, and Mohammed Ibrahim Gazanavi, all from Kabul, and Amil Ullah from Zabul province. These arrests conclude a thorough investigation initiated by police intelligence.
The men entered India between 2015 and 2019 on medical visas and have unlawfully remained by fabricating identities to obtain fraudulent residency documents. Utilizing technical resources, the crime branch tracked and detained them. They now face deportation back to Afghanistan, the official indicated.
