Chhath Puja: Inmates Celebrate with Reverence Behind Bars

Inmates at the district jail are preparing for Chhath Puja celebrations, expressing enthusiasm and reverence. Officials report that the jail administration has arranged offerings, fruits, and other essentials for the occasion.
The premises are undergoing cleaning and decoration, with particular attention to setting up a worship site and creating an artificial ghat. Over 20 female inmates and several male prisoners are participating in the fast, highlighting the communal spirit within the jail.
Senior Jail Superintendent D K Pandey emphasizes that this initiative signifies both respect for religious beliefs and the administration's humane, reformative approach towards prisoners. In addition to the necessary facilities, the fasting inmates are allowed to meet their family members, ensuring that the festival's celebrations are peaceful and smooth under the watchful supervision of Jailer Arun Kumar Kushwaha and his team.
