A tragic incident unfolded in Janani Nagar, Mangadu, as a toddler drowned in a water puddle near her residence. The victim, Prenika Shri, was nearly three years old. Despite efforts to save her, she was found lifeless in a plot where rainwater had accumulated.
The incident occurred on October 22, when Prenika's mother, Priyadarshini, briefly fell asleep with her daughter nearby. Waking up two hours later, Priyadarshini noticed her child was missing. A desperate search ensued, ultimately ending in heartbreak as Prenika was discovered motionless in the neighboring waterlogged plot.
The child was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared brought dead. The local police have registered a case and are currently delving deeper into the circumstances surrounding this tragic loss to ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
