In a harrowing scene at the Kharkola Border Outpost, Sub-Inspector Mohd Imteyaj of the Border Security Force (BSF) led his troops with unyielding bravery amid intense cross-border mortar shelling and drone threats during Operation Sindoor.
Despite sustaining grievous injuries, Imteyaj, alongside Constable Deeapak Chingakham, managed to neutralize hostile drones. Both heroes, refusing evacuation, continued the fight and made the ultimate sacrifice, embodying unparalleled courage in the face of certain death.
The Indian government recognized their valor by posthumously awarding them the Vir Chakra, highlighting their role in the broader defensive operation aimed at combating cross-border terrorism.
