As the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack approaches, human rights activist Arif Aajakia has aired his strong opinions on terrorism and the alleged role of Pakistan. He accused Pakistan of launching attacks on India without fear of retaliation and described the attack as 'horrible terrorism committed in the name of religion,' suggesting that victims were targeted due to their faith.
Aajakia highlighted India's resolute response over the past year, noting that India's message of zero tolerance towards terrorism has been clear, resulting in a year free from major attacks. While Operation Sindoor is currently paused, Aajakia warned that further provocations could see its resumption. He criticized Pakistan's claimed efforts to tackle terror groups, asserting that these are the very groups Pakistan has created itself, specifically calling out the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan as a product of Pakistan's ISI.
Aajakia further explained the dire consequences Pakistan faces by nurturing such groups, warning of their inevitable backfiring. On the international stage, he criticized global geopolitics, alleging Pakistan's creation as a strategic buffer zone and its complex relationship with the United States. Despite its lack of genuine support, he asserted the U.S. continues to rely on Pakistan given its strategic location near Afghanistan and Iran. He urged for stronger global actions to address terrorism effectively.
