On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP paid tributes to the 26 victims who lost their lives to terrorism. The attack in April 2025 initiated a short-lived conflict between India and Pakistan while highlighting the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Altaf Thakur, the BJP spokesperson, stated that the tragedy serves as a painful reminder of the human toll of terrorism, underlining the need to strengthen measures against such acts. The attack, executed by Lashkar-e-Taiba militants, resulted in the deaths of 25 tourists and a local guide at Pahalgam's Baisaran meadows.
Thakur praised the government's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and noted the prompt and effective response by security forces through Operation Sindoor. He affirmed that the government is committed to bolstering security for residents and tourists, driving confidence for travelers returning to the region.
