Mass Food Poisoning Outbreak in Gujarat's Bhavnagar District

Around 200 individuals, including school children, experienced symptoms of food poisoning in Gujarat's Bhavnagar district, according to officials on Thursday. The two separate incidents prompted urgent hospital visits for affected persons, resulting in swift discharges post-treatment.
On Wednesday, 52 children were taken to the general hospital after consuming bhaji-pav at school, complaining of vomiting. Medical officer Dr. Nilesh Santariya reported that a number of these children were kept under observation, with all eventually discharged.
A second incident on the same day saw over 100 people from Khambha village fall ill after eating prasad distributed at a temple program. Symptoms included vomiting and diarrhea, prompting hospital visits in Sihore where treatment was administered followed by patient discharges.
