Tragedy Strikes: Deadly Fire at SCB Medical College Claims 12 Lives

A tragic fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital has claimed the lives of 12 patients, officials confirmed. The devastating blaze, which is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, occurred at the trauma care ICU early on Monday morning.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling informed the assembly about the tragic loss, terming it a 'very sad accident.' Hospital staff responded swiftly, relocating 23 patients from the first floor ICU and nearby trauma care wards to other ICUs and wards.
Despite the efforts, seven patients from the trauma care unit and five others in critical condition succumbed to their injuries. Eleven medical staff members were injured during rescue operations but are reported to be out of danger. A judicial panel alongside a fact-finding team has been appointed to investigate the incident.
