Congress Cross-Voting Controversy in Haryana Rajya Sabha Elections

The Congress party is gearing up to take disciplinary action against its MLAs suspected of cross-voting during the recent Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana. This move follows the announcement made by Congress general secretary B K Hariprasad on Tuesday, who confirmed the issuance of show-cause notices to the involved legislators.

During Monday's election, BJP's Sanjay Bhatia and Congress candidate Karamvir Singh Boudh emerged victorious, with Boudh securing a narrow win. The race was tainted by allegations, as five Congress MLAs reportedly cross-voted, and four invalid votes were attributed to Congress lawmakers.

The controversy might deepen internal unrest within the party, as Congress' state chief Rao Narender Singh vowed strict measures against the perceived betrayal. In contrast, the state's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini raised concerns about the Congress' tactics, hinting at attempts to control MLAs to safeguard election outcomes.
