Karnataka's School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa has firmly stated there are no plans to transfer the administrative control of Pre-University education to Zilla Panchayats. His clarification comes as lecturers threaten to boycott evaluation work over such moves.
Speaking during the zero hour in the state's legislative council, Bangarappa noted discussions with relevant stakeholders had taken place, reinforcing the government's stance. He cautioned against pressure tactics like boycotts, which could negatively impact students. The minister stated unequivocally that no government order supports this transfer.
Despite pending dues concerns, financial clearances are in place, with payments expected by the 20th. Minister Bangarappa called for lecturer cooperation, urging resolution through dialogue to prioritize student welfare. Concurrently, legislative members called for maintaining educational control under the education department, updating honorariums, and resolving dues to avoid possible protests.
