A tragic sequence unfolded as a woman was found dead by suicide in her paying guest accommodation shortly after her estranged husband died by suicide at his native village, the local police reported on Tuesday.
Surinder Sandhu, in-charge at the City police station, detailed that the incident came to light around 9 pm on Monday. Residents at the PG facility in Sector 13 became concerned when repeated efforts to reach the woman failed, and no sounds were heard from her room, which was locked from within.
Upon inspecting through a window, they tragically discovered her hanging from the ceiling. Authorities were notified promptly, and they arrived to bring down the body. Preliminary investigations identified the deceased as Devi from Jind district, married to Vikram of Taraori, Karnal, about three years ago, with increasing domestic disputes reportedly leading to their separation.
