Rajasthan has solidified its position as a leader in renewable energy, ranking third in rooftop solar installations across India. The state energy department reports that Rajasthan has successfully installed 2,45,317 rooftop solar units, reaching a total capacity of about 2,090 MW.
The impressive shift to solar energy is evident, with 1,43,965 consumers achieving zero electricity bills. This surge is attributed to the PM Surya Ghar scheme, launched in 2024, that has seen 1,77,468 rooftop solar plants installed within two years.
Financial incentives have bolstered this transition, with subsidies significantly aiding adoption rates. As a result, Rajasthan's solar journey marks a significant stride in sustainable energy practices nationwide.
