With the sacred Char Dham Yatra scheduled to begin on April 23, the Uttarakhand government proudly announced the completion of all logistical and security preparations. High-level inspections led to revelations of an unprecedented interest from devotees worldwide, setting the stage for a significant influx of pilgrims.
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj disclosed to ANI that registration numbers are nearing 1.8 million. A detailed breakdown shows the popularity of the 'Abode of the Gods,' with specific pilgrim numbers being: Yamunotri - 370,295, Gangotri - 316,006, Kedarnath - 619,959, Badrinath - 527,227, and Hemkund Sahib - 17,171, totaling 1,787,658 registered pilgrims.
The Minister addressed potential logistical challenges, reassuring that essential services, including cooking gas and food supplies, are secured for the pilgrimage's duration. Additionally, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's recent inspections, including those of the Kedarnath Highway, confirm the readiness of infrastructure and overall arrangements, promising pilgrims a smooth, spiritually enriching journey.
