NRAI Aims to Inspire 7.5 Lakh Students with Shooting Sports Program

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) is set to celebrate its 75th anniversary with an ambitious plan to introduce 7.5 lakh school students across the country to shooting sports. The celebrations kicked off at Delhi's Karni Singh Range with notable figures in attendance, including Olympic champion Manu Bhaker and Asian Games gold medalist Jitu Rai.
NRAI Secretary General Pawankumar Singh unveiled the initiative, aiming to either visit schools or invite students to nearby ranges for shooting sessions. The objective is to uncover new talent, with the support of the government, the Ministry of Sports, and shooting clubs nationwide.
The NRAI, founded in 1951 with prominent leaders like G.V. Mavalankar, looks back at its heritage as it seeks to honor Arjuna, Khel Ratna, and Dronacharya awardees, as well as Olympic medalists, during the National and State Championships.
