Crackdown on LPG Violations Ensures Smooth Supply in Assam

Three individuals were apprehended and six LPG distributor licenses suspended in Assam as authorities intensify efforts against hoarding and illicit diversion, a senior official confirmed on Friday. Despite these actions, domestic LPG and petroleum product supplies remain stable across the state.
Nitin Bhatnagar, IndianOil's executive director for Assam, reassured that the supply of LPG cylinders, petrol, and diesel continues unaffected. With 1,737 petroleum retail outlets and numerous depots, daily availability includes 2,935 KL of petrol and 3,670 KL of diesel, supported by substantial stock levels ensuring 21-days' worth of petrol and 46 days of diesel.
LPG services cater to 93 lakh consumers via 604 distributors and bottling plants, with digitization boosting online bookings to 84% and DAC compliance reaching 72%. Enforcement actions, including 319 inspections, resulted in arrests and seized cylinders, enhancing the adherence to standard protocols.
