Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Wednesday expressed support for the suspension of Congress Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Abdul Jabbar. Kharge emphasized the necessity of adhering to the party line, stating, "Every decision taken is in the party's interest, and no one is above it."

The suspension follows allegations that Jabbar, despite demanding a ticket for the Davanagere South Assembly constituency, backed rival candidates during the recent bypolls. The Congress ultimately nominated Samarth Shamanur Mallikarjuna for the seat.

In an official statement, DK Shivakumar, party state president and Deputy Chief Minister, confirmed Jabbar's suspension due to anti-party activities. This decisive action underscores the Congress's commitment to maintaining internal discipline and unity among its ranks.
