BJP Unveils Strong Candidate Lineup for Kerala Assembly Elections
The BJP has announced its second list of candidates for the Kerala Assembly election, signaling its serious intent to challenge the ruling LDF. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Kerala Assembly election. The state BJP President, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, described the roster as formidable and indicative of the party's resolve to offer Kerala a 'serious' change.
This announcement features 39 candidates competing against notable rivals, such as K Ranjith, who will contend with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Dharmadam. Equally significant is the inclusion of former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan from Aranmula, as well as other prominent candidates like Ashwini ML, PR Sivasankar, Vathsala Prasanna Kumar, and Renu Suresh.
Previously, the BJP had released a first list with 47 candidates, including state President Rajeev Chandrasekhar from Nemom and former Union Minister V Muraleedharan from Kazhakoottam. As electoral preparations continue, the Congress has also fielded 55 candidates, eyeing a power shift in the assembly currently dominated by the LDF. Elections will occur on April 9, with results on May 4.
