In a dramatic political shift, CR Kesavan, BJP leader, launched a scathing attack on the Congress, labeling it 'unpatriotic' following the resignation of Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi from the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
Bordoloi's departure from Congress comes amid claims of internal mistreatment and an overarching ambition to contribute to Assam's development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia, warmly welcomed Bordoloi's decision just ahead of the critical assembly elections in the state.
Bordoloi expressed his dissatisfaction with Congress, highlighting persistent internal humiliation and an unsupportive leadership as key factors prompting his exit. His resignation marks a significant realignment in Assam's political landscape, as leaders, including Bhupen Kumar Borah, shift allegiance to BJP in pursuit of a 'Viksit Bharat'.
