India Navigates Diplomatic Challenges Amid West Asia Conflict

In an evolving conflict with global consequences, India described the West Asia situation as a 'testing time,' impacting not only the nation itself but the international community at large. Speaking at an inter-ministerial briefing, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized the concerted diplomatic efforts underway to ensure India's energy security.
The conflict, now entering its 20th day, was triggered by a military offensive from the US-Israel partnership against Iran, which retaliated by targeting US base-hosting Gulf countries. Jaiswal highlighted ongoing communications, including dialogues between India's Prime Minister and Kuwait's Crown Prince, as well as with other global leaders.
Jaiswal also pointed out the successful passage of Indian LPG ships through the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the importance of diplomatic engagement. Additional Secretary (Gulf) Aseem R Mahajan confirmed that the Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the situation to protect India's interests and the safety of Indian citizens in the region.
