Nainar Nagenthran, BJP's Tamil Nadu chief, has assured that there are no obstacles in the seat-sharing negotiations with ally AIADMK before the upcoming April 23 Assembly elections. The discussions are reportedly progressing well, and the exact number of constituencies will be determined shortly.
His remarks follow a meeting of AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami with BJP's central leadership in Delhi over the issue. Nagenthran asserted that central agencies such as the CBI operate independently and are not instruments of coercion for the BJP.
Regarding claims from Vijay-led TVK about an alleged offer for the Chief Minister’s post and substantial seats, Nagenthran denied any such negotiations. He emphasized that no formal talks occurred between BJP and TVK. Meanwhile, prominent leaders including Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah are expected to visit Tamil Nadu to support the campaign.
