Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address the Lok Sabha on Wednesday regarding the motion seeking the removal of Speaker Om Birla. This follows Congress MP Mohammad Jawed's introduction of the no-confidence motion during the Parliamentary Budget Session, which gained the support of more than 50 MPs.
Presiding over the session, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal granted permission for the motion and allocated ten hours for debate, urging MPs to adhere to the resolution's focus. The motion accuses Speaker Birla of displaying 'partisan' behavior, notably after an alleged incident involving Rahul Gandhi's right to speak in the House.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will commence the discussion, with contributions from BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Nishikant Dubey, among others. Congress MPs, including Gaurav Gogoi and Manish Tewari, will argue in favor of the resolution, while party tensions continue to rise over the Speaker's alleged actions.
